Who we are

Spiderlook provides AI competitive intelligence for agencies and marketing teams. This policy explains how Spiderlook (“we”, “us”) handles personal data when you visit spiderlook.com or use the Spiderlook app.

For personal data covered by this policy, Spiderlook is the data controller. For personal data our customers put into their own projects, we act as a processor on the customer’s behalf.

What we collect

Accounts: name, work email, company, role, login details and your billing information (payments are handled by our payment provider; we do not store full card numbers).
Product usage: the projects, rivals and sources you configure, the questions you ask Ask Spidey, and technical logs such as IP address, browser and device, used to run and secure the service.
Website usage: pages viewed, referring site and approximate location, collected through privacy-friendly analytics.

Competitor data

Spiderlook collects publicly available activity from the sources each customer selects — such as public social media profiles, public ad libraries and public web pages — to produce competitive intelligence for that customer’s project.

This data is about companies and their public marketing activity. We do not intentionally collect private information about individuals, and we do not use collected data to profile individual people.

How we use personal data

To provide the Spiderlook service under your contract, including support and billing (contract).
To keep the service secure, prevent abuse and fix problems (legitimate interest).
To improve the website and the product using aggregated usage data (legitimate interest).
To send product and account updates; you can unsubscribe from non-essential emails at any time (legitimate interest or consent).
To meet legal, tax and accounting obligations (legal obligation).

AI processing

Spiderlook uses AI models to analyse collected activity and to answer questions in Ask Spidey and through MCP. Project data is sent to our AI providers only to produce these results for your project, under contracts that prohibit using it to train their models.

An MCP connection gives the AI tool you connect access to one project only. Other projects stay private.

Sharing

We do not sell personal data. We share it only with service providers that help us run Spiderlook — hosting, AI processing, data collection, email, analytics and payments — under agreements that require them to protect it, and with authorities when the law requires it.

International transfers

Some of our providers process data outside your country. Where personal data leaves the European Economic Area, we rely on adequacy decisions or the European Commission’s Standard Contractual Clauses.

Retention

Account and project data: for as long as your account is active, then deleted within 90 days of closure, except where we must keep records by law.
Billing records: as long as tax and accounting law requires.

Security

Data is encrypted in transit and at rest, access is limited to the people who need it, and each customer project is kept separate from every other project.

Cookies

The website uses only the cookies needed for it to work and for privacy-friendly analytics. The app uses cookies to keep you signed in. We do not use advertising cookies.

Your rights

Depending on where you live, you can ask to access, correct, delete or export your personal data, object to or restrict how we use it, and withdraw consent at any time. You can also complain to your local data protection authority.

To exercise any of these rights, email privacy@spiderlook.com. We reply within 30 days.

Children

Spiderlook is a business service and is not directed at children under 16. We do not knowingly collect their personal data.

Changes

We may update this policy. The date at the top shows the latest version, and we will tell customers about material changes by email or in the app.
